Tourist Visas
REQUIREMENTS FOR A TOURIST VISA APPLICATION
(General conditions are subject to change without prior notice)
The visa fees depend on the nationality of the applicant
- the applicant must fill out the online Application Form at https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv/index.jsp, print it out, sign it and send the signed form along with the other documents required;
- When presented for the visa application, passport must be valid for at least six months and have at least two blank pages;
- one passport size photo is required (white or off-white background, front view, full face, must be a recent picture);
- the applicant must have a ticket to and from Brazil;
- the applicant must prove financial means compatible with the status of international tourist for the duration of his/her stay in Brazil (bank statements, pay slips or credit card statements are accepted as proof);
All the supporting documents must be either in Italian, English or Portuguese.
For those participating in conferences and seminars, or artistic or sports events, a letter from the organizers stating they will not receive payment from Brazilian sources is required.
The visa is issued in 5 to 10 working days, after the analysis of the documentation.
The visa fee is € 20,00*, with additional fees when processed by mail or a third party, as follows:
To apply for tourist visas by mail or through an agency (only for residents in the Consulate’s jurisdiction, which includes Malta) there is an additional fee of € 20,00. For residents in the Consulate’s jurisdiction in Italy: payment must be made by cashier’s or bank check (“assegno circolare”) payable in Italy and made out to "Consolato Generale del Brasile a Roma".
FOR RESIDENTS IN MALTA:
For operational reasons, services rendered by mail to residents of Malta are temporarily suspended.
If the visa is not applied for and picked up in person (the fee in that case is only the visa fee of € 20,00 to be paid for in cash), applicants are responsible for arranging and paying for for the applications to be delivered and the visas to be picked up either in person, or by a third party or an authorized courier (such as FEDEX, DHL, etc.). The Consulate must receive the authorization in writing or by e-mail in order to deliver the passport.
Visas applied in person can be paid in cash.
